Obituary of Barry K. Foland

Mr. Barry K. Foland, 70, of State Highway 163, Canajoharie, New York died Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany.

Born on May 13, 1947 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of Kenneth Victor Foland and Norma Gladys Brown Foland.  He was a graduate of Middleburgh High School, Class of 1966.

Following his High School graduation Barry joined the US Army, serving during the Vietnam war, obtaining the rank of Specialist 4.

Mr. Foland is survived by his sons, Joseph Foland and Gregory Foland of Middleburgh, NY; sister, Karen and Wade Palmatier; brothers, Hal Foland and Heather of Canajoharie, NY, with whom he resided, Jeffrey Foland of Idaho; 3 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00pm at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 17 from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Ames Cemetery, with full military honors, at a later date.
