Mr. Alton J. Reynolds, 89, of State Highway 162, Sprakers, New York died Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Palatine Nursing Home. Born on July 17, 1931 he was the son of Arthur Reynolds and Sadie Russell Reynolds. He was a graduate of Canajoharie Central School, Class of 1948 and was a lifetime area resident. Mr. Reynolds worked for Agway Energy Products in Cobleskill for 30 years in the heating service department, retiring in 1992. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1950-1954. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Mr. Reynolds was a member of the Canajoharie Forest Fish and Game, Mohawk Valley Coon and Cat Club, Sprout Brook Fish and Game, and the NRA. On October 8, 1955 at St. Peter's & Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Alton was married to Anna Carron. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2011. His brothers and sisters also predeceased him. Mr. Reynolds is survived by his children, Alan Reynolds of Oppenheim, NY, Cheryl (Bill) Benninger of Canajoharie, NY, Daniel (Patti) Reynolds of Sloansville, NY; daughter-in-law, Diane Reynolds; grandchildren, Aubrey Wilday, Megan (Derek) Barry, Bellamy (Keleigh) Reynolds, Katie Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Violet, Gabe, Abby, Ella, Brandon, and Mark; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 1:00 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda, NY with full military honors. In lieu of flowers or donations please consider performing a random act of kindness in Alton and Anna's memory.
