Obituary of Dana Spaulding

Mr. Dana G. Spaulding, 67, of Spring Street, Fort Plain, New York died unexpectedly Monday, April 4, 2022 at St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam. Born on September 7, 1954 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Lester Spaulding and June Mower Putnam. He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1972 and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a Union Carpenter at Carpenters Local Union for over 30 years. Dana enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and being with his family. He was a lifetime member of the Tri-Town Coon Club, traveling all over Canada and the United States hunting. He will be remembered for his love of animals, especially his horses and dogs. On August 11, 1973 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Plain, Dana was married to Pamela Mabbett. His father Lester Spaulding; brother, Harold Spaulding; and sister, Lesley Spaulding predeceased him. Mr. Spaulding is survived by his wife, Pamela Spaulding; mother, June Putnam; son, Matthew and Amanda Spaulding; daughters, Erin and Chad Nare, Angela and Justin Hazzard; siblings, Dale and Darlene Spaudling, Rachel and Ronnie Millington, James and Michelle Putnam, Chad and RoseAnn Spaudling, Zane and Valicity Spaulding; 9 grandchildren, Ethan, Madison, Brady, McKay, Dawson, Garret, Elle, Sydney, Kali; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 2:00-5:00PM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
