Obituary of Marion L. Foster

Mrs. Marion L. Foster, 94, most recently of Wesley Commons, Saratoga, NY died on December 8th, 2022.

She was born in Schenectady, NY on March 12, 1928, the daughter of Ralph and Lovina Barbin Egelston, both who predeceased her.

Marion was a graduate of Fultonville High School, Class of 1945, and attended the Amsterdam City School of Nursing.

Mrs. Foster was a mother and homemaker, as well as working with her husband owning and operating Monte and Marion Foster Antiques in Palatine Bridge, NY for 56 years.

She had lived in Palatine Bridge for 59 years, several years in Glenville, and Saratoga Springs.

She was of Methodist faith, was active in the girls scouts, and was a leader of troop L8 in Palatine Bridge for 45 years, further she had helped train many other scout leaders. She was active on many committees in the Mohawk Pathway Girl scouts and took part in overnight programs, trips and events.

On April 5, 1947, at the United Methodist Church Parsonage in Canajoharie, Ny she married Charles “Monte” Foster. He predeceased her on January 16, 2009.

She is survived by her daughter Linda M. and Peter Pileggi of Malta, NY; a son Gary Foster of Pittsburgh, PA;  6 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

She was predeceased by her daughter Cheri Bea Reighard and brother Grant R. Egelston.

A memorial Service will be held May 13, 2023, at 10:00am at Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.

A private burial will take place at Fort Plain Cemetery.
