Obituary of Gloria Augustine

Mrs. Gloria F. Augustine, 72, of Palatine Bridge, NY, unexpectedly passed away early in the morning on January 18th, 2025, at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home.
She was born in Little Falls, NY, on April 6, 1952, the daughter of the late Chester and Esther Swartz Smith.
Gloria attended Springfield Central Schools.
She most recently worked at Richardson Brands in Canajoharie; prior to that, she was at LaSalle Labs, all while being a mother and homemaker.
Gloria was a lifelong area resident and an avid Yankees fan. She enjoyed watching Aaron Judge of the Yankees, spending time with her family, kids, and grandkids, and trips to the casino.
On June 24, 1978, in Fort Plain, NY she married Donald Augustine, Sr. who survives.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Edna Mae Ramos, Betty Crouse, Brenda Kilmartin, Deb Smith, and several infant siblings.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children; Stephen Himpsl (Kathy Cambell), Scott Himpsl (Annie Himpsl), Sherry Suits (Kevin Suits), Donald "DJ" Augustine (Lacey Augustine); stepdaughter Teresa Pranger; siblings Donald Smith, Marlene Dolder, Patricia Crouse, Donna Waveris, Cindy Harrison, Kevin Smith, Dennis Smith, and Jeffery Smith; grandchildren Joshua Himpsl, Jonathan Himpsl, Jordan Himpsl, Sophia Himpsl, Nathan Himpsl, Noah Himpsl, Matthew Himpsl, Nicholas Suits, Zachary Suits; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Houghtaling and Hanley Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 24th, 2025 at 10:00 am, at the funeral home.
